La Chevallerie ( XV Century spelling) is one of the oldest and richest vineyards of Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil. The sand and gravel soil has been devoted to the cultivation of wines for about eighteen centuries.

The "Hotel de la Chevallerie", as it was known, came into the possession of the Abbey of Saint-Pierre de Bourgueil in the Middle Ages, and the renown of the wines proucted at La Chevallerie was the resut of the labours of the benedictine monks over the centuries.

Mindful of this magnificient heritage, Alain and Josiane Bruneau continue with the grand tradition. However, this has not prevented them from incorporating modern methods which ganantee consistent quality, whatever the vintage.
